Mr Amos makes spare peg count and gives the rest the needle……..
15 fished
1st. Martin Amos,
Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 1 32-08-0
With peg 24 not in the hat this week, Martin took full advantage, pole at 10
metres to the deep hole, switching between corn and his trusted pellet for nine
carp. When the needle went round we was treated to the customary “that’s more
than I thought I had”. Well done Mart.
2nd. Paul Hyde,
Laindon Allsorts,
peg 6 23-04-0
With a cold wind blowing into peg 5 preventing the usually reliable Roy
Makins from mounting a challenge, Paul fished across, catching small carp and
skimmers steadily all match. If peg 24 had of been in who knows…
3rd. Paul Dunn,
J&B Tackle,
peg 12 20-10-0
Another consistent corner peg, Paul’s approach was all about converting
bites, small carp, skimmers, roach, perch and anything fishy, putting together a
good net as temperatures dropped and the usual ‘last hour’ margin carp went on
the missing list.

An archive picture of John Young a champ amongst champ's

This weeks winner John Young standing with the late and great Mark Shaunghessy
and the very present Martin Amos, this is a picture that a dug out of the depths
of the Lake John memory banks back in 2008, I would like to take this moment of
nostalgia to remember the recent passing of Sid Roberts a friend of time gone
past and all be it many years ago Sid was a regular to the lake and made this
his own venue after many years of running matches at Stanborough, RIP Sid.

1st. John Young, Lake John,
peg 9 27-08-0
John wrapped up warm as this was a chilly start to the day but temperatures
were increasing as John started to put a few fish in the net pellet fish down
the track and across to the far bank stick ups big carp kept slipping the hook
another difficult match as the water temperatures dip with the increase of water
that has hit us once again.
2nd. Ken Farrell, Browning-Lake John,
peg 6 21-00-0
Ken caught all match and everyone thought he had done enough to win the
match but the fish were on the smaller side 6mm pellet and the Farrell fish to
win attitude always makes him a threat on the bank.
3rd. Paul Law, Trabbuco-South East,
peg 3 12-04-0
Paul just popped in for a go this week and done a good enough job
considering the conditions cold wind and shallow water, maggot to the hook
created a days fishing and easily secured 3rd spot, this was a tuff old match
this week.
4th. Tony Pennycook, Lake John,

1st. Lester
Bishop, Lake John,
Golden peg 17 31-00-0
This was a fully attended match with nearly two to a peg the organiser
slightly over subsribed this week sorry chaps, but this didn't stop Lester
making a good peg great and taking home all the coin, very little feed and a
searching the peg approach soon gave a glimmer of hope as a few fish started to
move in the peg, not the highest scoring event by any means but a victory all
the same, small carp down the track and across to the far bank, a lovely chap
and what a golden peg champ...
2nd. Roy Makins, GOT Baits,
peg 3 25-08-0
Roy maintains form again this week but just not enough to stop the golden
peg, pellet across to the far bank.
3rd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 10 19-00-0
Martin worked the peg hard and with every peg in on this bank the busy
anglers will get the fish as he proved again this week.

41lb of all things fishy as he takes a clear victory
17 Fished
1st. Bobby Wren, Pro Angling Ware,
peg 16 41-00-0
We have experienced a lot of rain over the past couple of days and this
tends to put the fish down and off the feed so being a smart chap Bobby decided
from the off to just fish maggot down the track and catch what ever came his way
and after seeing his pal Martin Amos produce only 6lb on this peg last week he
didn't realise quiet how much a good idea this was going to be, the match times
have now been shortened due to the lack of day light so the match finished at
3.30pm and its fair to say no-one was going to get close to Bob as he just kept
one step ahead of the rest of the field, Bobby Wren-Maver-Channel 9, this
victory has taken three years to achieve and it couldn't happen to a nicer
bloke, we salute you Mr.Wren.
2nd. Roy Makins, GOT Baits,
peg 22 26-10-0
Roy slips one place from last week when he collected the golden peg, we need
the water at the moment but cold rain water before the match is never a good
thing as Roy was to find out bites were hard to come by and when they did it was
more of the foul hooked variety, pellet and maggot done the job this week for
Roy.
3rd. Charley Clark, Farnborough,
peg 3 26-04-0
This young girl is unstoppable at the moment given these men a run for their
money, second last week and a very respectable 3rd today, maggot again the bait
of the day and when Charley started to hook the better fish it was a change up
in rigs to convert these bites into keepers, another great performance Charley
way to go!

1st. Roy Makins,
GOT Baits,
Golden peg3 32-00-0,
This was a real strain as the bites were hard to find but Roy made the most
as he searched his peg long to the far bank with pellet to the hook and next to
no feed gave Roy more than enough to clean up and scoop the golden peg as well,
loads of money £180.00 to be precise.
2nd. Charley Clark, Lake John-Farnborough,
peg 19 16-12-0
This girl is getting better every match and taking some big names out on the
way this week was the turn of ex-England ace Dicky Carr who could only manage
10oz's on the next peg a true whooping for the ace, Charley hardly fed any loose
feed and managed to pick a few fish off using a single maggot small carp and a
net of silvers bagged a nice little pay day for the Cuffley lass, I think that
is a lucky top Charley, well done girl......
3rd. Paul Hyde, Lake John,
peg 8 15-08-0
Everyone struggled today for what ever reason but like Paul it was a case of
sticking with it and just convert as many bites as poss, the bites were very few
but just enough bites for a few quid, tight to the far bank one 6lb'er made it
all possible.

Driscoll is on a roll with a victory off the back of a Wednesday second place....
16 fished
1st. Robin
Driscoll, RAD Law,
peg 23 53-08-0
On his game the new boy on the block has taken his match chat, listened to
it, digested it, and now doing it, Robin has learned a lot over the past couple
of months and with a bit of initiative he has come on in leaps and bounds,
today's match should have been a write off as he arrived at the venue with no
top kits for his pole so it was time to improvise with waggler rod, fishing the
inner margins Robin has had to tuck his rod under his arm with the reel two feet
behind him and on the strike he had to ship his rod forward to the butt section
so he could play the fish, red maggot to the hook and loose feeding nearly 4
pints during the match, small carp and big carp.
2nd. Bob Wren, Ware Angling,
peg 24 41-08-0
Bobby Wren and Robin have had a great day good company sitting next to each
other and a few fish as well hat better these two battered the Amos today and
had great pleasure telling him at the end of the match a meat treat is Bob's
usual approach and it was a smaller stamp of fish but plenty of them,

Amos has had it all his own way for far to long so there is a new young
contender in town and she goes by the name of Charlie Clark so watch out!,
Martin has got great faith in catching at his feet later on in the match and its
either corn or pellet that is doing the biz.....
2nd. Andy Gregory, Milo-Borden,
peg 16 32-08-0
No early wake up call for Andy this week as he made the draw in plenty of
time and was suffering no drink induced ailments as in previous weeks, a good
peg on this sell out event as Andy scratched a few fish together on the pellet
3rd. Charlie Clark, Lake John,
peg 24 24-06-0
What can you say about this hot young Cuffley based prospect as she began
the contest Charlie soon had to realize that she was sat between two angling
greats, on her left was Fishomania three times qualifier Ken Farrell and to the
right the perfectionist that is John Young, but that was never going to phase
her as she just got on with business, working all her lines she didn't plunder a
peg for to long as she soon realised this was going to be a low scoring contest,
pellet to the hook was the strongest and plenty of bites, Charlie is only 11
years old and has got a great future and a great family supporting her as well,
her dad Scott has been putting in the miles running her to matches all over the
country with her Farnborough youth team whilst her mum Maxine and sister Rachel
are always cheering in the back ground, Maxine and Rachel were gutted they just
missed the weigh in as they had other duties to attend, there was a huge round
of applause as the results were read out and it was announced that Charlie had
secured third place, a very big well done Charlie a brilliant effort, I bet
Grandad Bill was watching you today girl as you bashed em up both sides of ya.

hard pellet across to the far bank, fish all day and all spiecies were in the
peg, next week is Paul's chance to join the three in a row club and a chance of
T-shirt.
2nd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,

Yet another good draw and it has to be said if he landed all the fish he

Not here that often as Tylers is his venue on a Saturday morning but this
quick change in venue proved to be a very good move, small carp medium carp and
the odd skimmer to the meat on the short pole, down the track and centre
margins.
2nd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 20 55-04-0
A bad last hour has cost Martin the match and relegated him into second
place again this week, 4mm pellet and toss potting micro pellet gave Martin
enough for second spot...

Roy Makins takes a close margin of victory over golden peg Amos...
16 fished
1st. Roy Makins,
Fox Match-GOT baits,
peg 23 37-12-0
This was a real neck and neck match, the fish didn't seem to want to feed so
the fish were very patchy, pellet across to the far bank with a loose fed 4mm
hard pellet and 6mm expander down the inner margin, just enough small carp eased
the closest of victory's.
2nd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
Golden peg 24 37-08-0
I was watching the last 15 minutes of the match when Martin popped the
winning fish off the hook in the dying seconds of the match thus costing him a
golden peg, not a happy chap I've got to tell ya, I have never heard language
like it, until the final weigh in then you could really hear his disappointment,
corn down the inner margin for not enough carp.
3rd. Joung Young, Lake John,

Get those odd fish in that escape during the match and the results read

1st. Alan Milsom, Oakwood Angling,
peg 1 57-00-0
Another sellout Saturday and Alan walked into the cafe looking for a ticket
but I told him all pegs were full and the only chace he had of getting a ticket
was if someone didn't show, well as the draw time became closer Alan got his
chance and low and behold done the biz from a good peg it has to be said, he
forgot his bait so he had to stock up with meat from the shop on site and
finally got into the zone, Alan caught across to the far bank 12m plenty of
bites and a good days sport.
2nd. Roy Makins, Fox Match-GOT Baits,
peg 6 43-08-0
Roy has drawn ok today and soon set to work netting a few carp, but a huge
drought of fish in the midway and latter stage of the match have cost him today,
the forecast was rain but instead it was bright sunshine and a cool breeze Roy
has caught all over his peg but the better fish were on the feed in the inner
margins.
3rd. Ken Farrell, Browning-Lake John,
Golden peg 23 41-04-0
Ken won it last week and set off to his least favourite peg without any
thought of framing he so dislikes this peg but the slow sinking bread done the

Ken complained to me at the end of the match that he was very disappointed
that he could only catch his fish in one place and all the other place's were no
good, what a terrible shame Ken just think if you didn't catch in that one place
either you would have been last and not first you nutter, meat and corn in the
one place just left of his peg produced some of the biggest fish in the lake.
2nd. Mark Skeggs, Fox Match-Blackwater,
Golden peg10 51-04-0,
A travelling Mr Skeggs jumped on the M1 back to Northampton minus the golden
peg money, on this his first visit back to the lake in many years he just proved
to all his old mates that he has still got it, after a winter on the canals this
is his first return to a commercial in months and the smirk on his face it
looked like he enjoyed it, carp on the long pole meat, pellet and corn.
3rd. John Young, Lake John,

1st. John Young, Lake John,
Golden peg 1 23-04-0,
John has made a habit of taking all of the golden peg money over the past
few weeks and the last time was from peg 1, a peg he doesn't really like but he
will have to change his mind soon because the peg obviously likes him, today was
like a January winters day as the rain hail and wind blew and gusted about the
place for the entire match, small carp pellet.
2nd. Tony Pennycook, Lake John,
peg 10 21-10-0
Tony looked a bit out of sorts during the cafe breakfast banter, a bit quiet
and not his normal self but he approached the match like a poker player keeping
his chips close and let the action do the talking, not a big weight from anyone
today but the conditions were really bad and Tony even had to retire his
umbrella as it was smashed to bits during a gust of wind that made him resemble
Mary Poppins as he held on for dear life, Tony if you had caught just one more
you would have saved the golden peg you git.

Steve is holding form as he heads into the final round of the J+B league
next week a true champion, pellet across to the far bank and a bit of corn

his fishing at the moment, look at the smile on his little face.
2nd. John Young, Lake John,
peg 1 37-02-0
John also maintains his run of form on a peg he didn't fancy at all, John
kept it simple and fished a couple of joints of his pole down the inner margin
with pellet to the hook and probably a bit of meat in the equation.

John Young has reigned supreme the last couple of weeks and today he lost
his crown to Dave King who has fished pellet to the far bank and down the track
working his lines for the next bite, to catch a fish here today was an
achievement I think as the lake was iced over during the week, Dave's pellet
approach produced a winter bag of small carp.

I can say is that they obviously took their time to swim over my bait and when
they did they stayed there all week and waited for him to turn up this Saturday,
John has fished a hand full of bait all day just like last week and a meat and
pellet cocktail attracted the better fish again...

Lake John,
peg 3 40-12-0
Johnny boy is never too far away from the top slot and every now and then
make's it to the very top, it was a meat feast for John down the track and inner
margins small carp were hooked most of the match and this peg has just started
to show a bit of form since the shorter days have been with us...
2nd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 11 35-10-0
Well he caught more than he thought again, with an estimated 20lb landed The
Moss is getting a name for getting his weight completely wrong, its just his
little game you know!
3rd. Roy Makins, Fox Match-GOT Baits,
peg 14 32-00-0
Roy takes another place this week and its not only here he is showing real
form, but also with the GOT boys at other venues and it's Roy that has been
winning, Another steady performance down the inner margin with a juicy GOT
pellet to the hook.

1st. Martin Amos,
Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 14 36-00-0
The pellet down the inner margins and across to the far bank produced fish
in spells but the corn found the better fish on this cloudy and wet windy day,
this is a true reflection of the weeks to follow some pegs will bring you a
surprise bonus fish when you least expect it.
2nd. Mark Johnson, Simpsons of Turnford,
peg 21 35-04-0
Last weeks winning peg not that Mark would know because he left early last
week due to the fact that he was cold, bless him!, mind you it was cold last
week, carp to the far bank when they would be up for a nibble, the fishing was
very much like the weather a bit hit and miss.
3rd. Dave King, Debden Angling,
peg 8 24-12-0
Still up there catching a few, Dave worked his lines giving the fish all the
necessary instruction it would take to net enough for a third place, small carp
and odd silvers gave driving instructor King a days sport.

Paul Dunn it with ease this week when the east wind and freezing wind blew several into an early submission...

1st. Paul Dunn,
J+B Tackle,
peg 21 65-00-0
It was the coldest fishing day of the year so far and anglers were falling
fast as the cold wind brought in the icy cold rain, but Paul seemed to keep a
few fish interested and tempted them with a pellet to the far bank small carp
mainly but a sprinkling of fish various bulked out this incredible winters bag
of fish.
2nd. Dave Davis, J+B Tackle,
peg 16 36-00-0
Dave has made a come back while his pal is away for his hols and makes a day
of it with a few fish on and off through the day and it was the pellet again
that seemed to do the trick, small carp across and down the track.
3rd. Dennis Jarvis, Pro Master-Trabucco,
peg 23 33-00-0
You wanted to be in the higher number this week, this is where the water is
slightly deeper and the fish are more at home here when the weather takes a turn
for the worst.

A late booking for Dave makes it all worth while...
16 fished
1st. Dave King,
Debden Angling,
peg 5 34-02-0
Dave was booked in for next week but a change of plan from him and a
cancellation this end made way for a days dangling, peg 5 hasn't shown much form
lately so this was a fair performance with pellet to the hook down the track
Dave plucked just enough fish to win and it was a good 8lb foul hooked that kept
second place away.
2nd. Mark Johnson, Simpsons of Turnford,
peg 3 31-12-0
A terrible start and not a very good middle had Mark thinking that it was
all going to be a waste of time but this lake can be like this and in the last 2
hours the peg showed a few fish and old captain plumrose very nearly made this a
victory.
3rd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 8 20-04-0
Fresh from his win on Wednesday Martin was up for the job but in all
fairness this was not a particular good peg so the pellets were pumped and the
corn was open for another 6 hours of competition.

Oakwood team man Milson takes a day off and bags a few carp on the meat...
16 fished
1st. Alan Milson, Oakwood Angling,
peg 1 58-04-0
Alan popped down last week on a one off day off from work and seems to have
got the bug, and the draw bag was kind as well this peg one is holding a few
fish at the moment, with a 8mm cube of meat Alan fished a foot from the far bank
and an estimated 60lb at least of quick release fish.
2nd. Dennis Jarvis, Pro Master-Trabbucco,
golden peg 7 49-00-0,
This is a peg that we never put in normally but I fancied a change in the
draw bag, and golden peg as well Den has done well but not well enough to win
fishing long to the far bank a bit of meat, a bit of corn and a bag of bites.
3rd. Tony Pennycook, Lake John,
peg 19 34-08-0
Old T.P. lost another pound last week but gave himself a boost with a good
draw and a few carp were soon found but the wind soon got up and made conditions
difficult for all, but this peg can be affected more than most, it's good I was
on the bank or your would have been 4th, ha, ha

The giants of the little lake are away down at White acres so I slipped in for a go on the bottom lake and had a very nice day sitting next to my winter league partner battling it out for first and second spot...

1st. Colin Bartlett, Lake John-J+B Tackle,
peg 23 42-04-0
With the likes of Amos and Gregory away I made the numbers up which is
something I can only do in the winter normally, and had a really close match
with my old partner Scott Clark on the next peg sharing fish and banter I led
with a good start of small carp to the far bank on meat and about mid match
Scotty boy was reeling me in and It was probably a short quiet spell of roach
snatching that gave me the edge in the end, but this was another close match and
a few were in the frame for the first spot, but Scott slept on his belly this
night cos his arse was well smacked, unlucky mate!
2nd. Scott Clark, Simpsons of Turnford,
peg 24 40-08-0
A regular to the Saturday scene and a recognised angler Scott was always
going to be a threat and he took his time doing things right with corn and meat
to the hook across to the far bank, so although I was concentrating on the job
in hand I was keeping my good eye on what the big man was planning being his
partner last winter we had talked tactics a lot in the past so I was learning
the water that he knows better than me and if the truth be known another half
hour and the match would have been his, as the fish turned up in the inside
margin and it was one a put, but hay ho you only second and a smack Scotty...
3rd. Paul Dunn, J+B Tackle,
peg 5 38-08-0
Now this peg has been off colour lately and Mr Dunn spent his match looking
around the whole peg for fish and fish a tidy match picking fish off from
everywhere small carp for Paul and in reality only one fish from victory
himself.

16 fished
1st. Steve Goring, J+B Tackle,
peg 23 64-00-0
Inner margins seemed to be the most rewarding method for Steve with
sweetcorn to the hook the carp came along nice and steady and when they did they
were of a decent stamp and fishing the short pole made it all the more secretive
as no-one realised that Steve was catching at all, Martin did let Steve know a
couple of tricks just before the match and it appeared to pay off, but full
credit to ya you made it work and bashed it return...
2nd. Mark Johnson, Simpsons of Turnford,
peg 9 59-04-0
A bit of a stress on the build up to the match it looked like the day was
going to be a bad one but as soon as Mark could get into his stride it was one a
put on the meat to the far bank for a nice days carping averaging 2lb to 3lb.
3rd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 21 53-08-0
Not much of a peg over the past few months but that Amos can catch a tiddler
or two and continued to catch small carp most of the match but in fairness they
were small, but he still caught more than he thought...

Den Jarvis total's 66lb from that on form peg 1...
16 fished
1st. Dennis Jarvis, Pro Master-Trabbucco,
peg 1 66-00-0
Last week Mark Johnson done the biz on the meat down the centre track and
this week it was corn across to the far bank and it would seem the bigger carp
at the moment are all hanging out in peg 1, so Den put together a plan and
started to catch all his fish tight to the far bank margin.
2nd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 16 61-08-0
All part of the master plan Martin drew last again this week as he does
every week and left his breakfast table with those immortal words " I had better
go and make a rig", and then spends the rest of the match hooking carp tight
across to the far bank on corn just like Mr Jarvis, catching much more than he
thought as he always under estimates his total weight by at least 10lb or so.
3rd. Roy Makins, GOT Baits,
peg 6 47-04-0
Roy drop's down one place from last week and it might just be that the
pellet doesn't quiet have the same effect as the corn on the lake at the moment,
catching across and in the inner margins Roy earns himself another couple of bob
this week.

Peg 1 throw's up another winning weight and Mark Johnson caught steady from this peg all match to win with a clear margin....
16 fished
1st. Mark Johnson, Simpsons of Turnford,
peg 1 56-00-0
The meat down the centre track and this was all because Mark lost a few fish
early in the inner margin reeds and decided to fish away from the snags and this
proved to be successful, 4mm cubes of meat done the trick and it was a bag of
small carp that kept Mark's elastic moving all match.
2nd. Roy Makins, GOT Baits,
peg 23 40-08-0
I don't think Roy had thought he had done too well as he made a speedy exit
from the fishery due to a call form the boss indoors so as he left i told him I
would weigh his fish and let him know how well he had done, well second place
weren't too bad Roy and a few money vouchers await you, pellet down the edge for
those carp again.
3rd. Tony Pennycook, Lake John,
peg 6 39-04-0
Tony had a Cormorant in his peg all day which affected his performance but
the cormorant (Ken Farrell) will be in Holland next week Tony had several fish
across to the far bank but Ken kept fish on the edge of the boundary line
between the pegs and probably took enough fish away from Tony to win the
match... another close match.

peg 1 59-08-0
Known for his under estimated total weight and the scales and his catch
phase, "that's more than I thought", Martin outwitted his bag of carp with a
sweet corn approach and loose fed micro pellet and groundbait, a form peg at the
moment and a form angler as well...
2nd. John Nippress, Lake John,
peg 17 48-08-0
John drew this peg last week and bombed right out so he didn't relish the
idea of another Saturday in the same peg but this is a true testament to angling
because every day is a different day, and John had all but thought he had won
the match on meat to the far bank and down the centre track, carp and skimmers
and wot a bag of fish for the old timer, ( I am gonna ban him again next week
for sure!)
3rd. Robert Wren, Ware Angling,

1st. Roy Makins, GOT Baits,

Roy used his sponsored pellet to GOT a result this week and caught carp
across to the far bank as Andy Gregory did the week before for 100lb of bites
Roy didn't do quite that weight but a win is still a win, and the GOT pellets
still go down a storm on this little lake.
2nd. Robert Wren, Ware Angling,
peg 1 47-08-0
"Bob Wren peg 1 Maver", a real pleasure to see a top man get his day in the

1st. Andy Gregory, Fisherman's Cabin,
peg 6 105-00-0
The Gregory sang his way in to a true Xtra Factor victory with his flat
notes and tone deaf lead singing, but it didn't put the carp off with his meat
across to the far bank approach and it was a ton of carp that enjoy Andy's
singing expliots, a real talent on the bank but will never be known for his
singing ability.
2nd. Martin Amos, Bedwell Fisheries,
peg 14 62-12-0
Didn't have a chance of a place in the match until he spotted a few fish
down at his feet two foot from the bank and Martin recons he caught atleast 40lb
of carp in the last hour on corn in the inner margins next to his feet, if only
he had sorted this out earlier in the match he may have caught the singer on peg
6.
3rd. Paul Dunn, J+B Tackle,
peg 24 57-00-0
In the frame again Paul is making a habit of this as he takes this third off
the back of a 10 ounce first place win last week from peg 12, fishing down the

for Paul.

1st. Paul Dunn, J+B Tackle,
peg 11 51-10-0
Showing a run of form at the moment Paul and his trusted pellet approach
fishing across to the far bank on a sellout lake the pressure was really on and
it was a later up in the water approach that probably clinched a very close
victory this whole match was as close as i can every remember a match being on
the lake as the carp had their feeding heads on during a very grey and wet day.
2nd. Robin Driscoll, Lake John,
peg 12 51-00-0
In was fish for fish all match between these two and there styles were
completely different as Robin fished corn down the edge, Robin has only just
started to fish this lake and has made his self at home, Robin told me after the
match that he lost plenty of fish to win with ease but that's fishing.

To say this peg has been off the pace is an under statement when the likes
of Andy Gregory the other week achieved only 3lb 12oz's from this very peg, but
it wasn't just sit down and bag up as Paul found out for the early part of the
match it was just small carp to 4oz's until Paul switched up in the water and
sprayed pellet and the fish very kindly accommodated the high bait and help pip
first spot from the GOT baits sponsored Mr. Makins, picture above is 18lb of
winter roach earlier on in the year.
2nd. Roy Makins, GOT Baits,
peg 14 49-12-0
Roy also had what could be described as a bad draw as this peg has been out
of sorts, but with a GOT pellet to the hook Roy plucked a few big en's out of
the centre track and it looked like he had won this with ease but that quiet lad
sneaked his fish in without any fuss and very modestly took home the winnings.

Cold day again on the lake and this winter is really going on and on this
year but with Martin's good luck on the draw and a little bit of angling ability
his form is holding up at the moment, corn down the inside edge produced a few
bites late on but until then it was a bit a difficult day, but you have just got
to hang in there because these fish can turn up and feed at any time.
2nd. Den Jarvis, Pro Mater-Trabucco,
peg 10 21-00-0
Sitting with the wind smacking him in the chops all day it was a wonder he

1st. Mark Johnson, Simpsons of Turnford,

Tough day on the bank for all but Marky does just enough to take victory, as
the cold winds blew through the lakes it was always difficult to present pellet
and corn down the edge done just the job for a bag of small carp.
2nd. John Nipress, Lake John,
peg 10 24-12-0
John is another character that has been away for a while and the corn was
the winning bait as well the bites are few and far between this time of the year
and you have to make them count, small carp for John and he takes yet another
quid from his drinking pal Mr. Parris, fancy letting an old man beat ya Mark you
should sell your gear.
